GM sent a letter to dealers on July 23 outging the changes to the new agreement, which appear to be minor and technical. For example, the shift from dealer owner to distributor investor to reflect the majority of dealer agreements. A GM spokesman insisted that the new deals not be used to sanction or enter into traders. The manufacturer just wants them to be better dealers. During Senate hearings on Chrysler and GM dealer cuts on Tuesday, GM CEO Fritz Henderson said the automaker had scheduled a meeting with NADA on Friday to defuse the “most offensive parts of this deal.” Form up or ship out: Actual revenue targets are not set out in the agreement and GM reserves the right to change targets at any time.
